Spring 2011 Trends : Glowing Natural You

Natural makeup is a trend that is going to maintain its fame in the coming season . The greatest part of that  in this case is it can be done effortlessly and you can appear fashionable and amazing.Glowing sun kissed skin bright flesh tone eye makeup and a flushed check is all it takes cherry on top is a sheer glossy pout. However just because the look created is a no-makeup look it doesn't mean that you will not use makeup. Take these for example :

This look can even carry over to a great evening out . Using a more vivid white or silver on the lid and a natural matte in the crease . Finish with a thin clean liquid liner on top and blackest black lashes . For cheeks a flush of peach or apricot best would be a  cream or liquid blush , you will want to keep that glowing affect. Last but not least the perfect kiss me pout , a light application of pink , nude or toffee colored lipstick (really depends on your skin tone . you will want to achieve 2-3 shades darker then your flushed cheeks) then touch up with your fave. lip balm or lip gloss depending on what affect you prefer .

This look  is not showing any signs of loosing its popularity due to the fact that natural beauty cannot be topped. When the makeup is applied lightly it enhanced all the best facial features and that is what you want to achieve . Bring out that glowing radiant you.

I had a lot of fun putting this post together i hope you find them informative and you decide to put one of these great looks to use this spring .

Spring 2011 Trends : 1970′s, Avant-Garde Eyes

This season for eyes the more disco-inspired neon your shadow, the better! Its like that first cup of coffee in the morning . You want to awaken your eyes with vibrant oranges, pinks, blues, greens, yellows, and violets of the spring. People say the eyes are the windows to the soul , well show the world how warm and bubble you are by sweeping these fun shades from your lash line to crease. Here are a few looks you can try

If you are more into neutral eyes you might want to try a great smoky eye with earthy tones for a hippie chic allure. Wonderful rich red ,browns ,copper and bronzed to give you that sultry sun kissed look . Someone who lives for the warm spring/summer nights .
Whatever look you prefer there's no denying this seasons eyes are a great throwback to a fun vibrant era filled with rich color and a love for all things nature . Enjoy this spring and be sure to dress those windows with warmth happiness and a readiness to party .

Spring 2011 trends: Bold Lip

So i was thinking early this morning that i want to do a few posts on some of the spring makeup trends for this year  There is no denying this year we are seeing ALOT of bold bright colors . That being said i picked bold lips for the first out of three post i will be doing so let’s get started .

One of the hottest and my personal favorite trends this spring is the bright bold lip. We are seeing it all over the magazines and runways this year. It is a great way to add a little color especially for the days you don’t have time to do sexy dramatic eye or find yourself trying to transition from neutral toned down day look to going out for drinks with the girls evening look . Here are a few ideas on how to pull this off.

At this year’s Golden Globes this look was everywhere. Whether you are cool toned, warm toned, fair skinned, dark skinned with the right shade this is a look that will look stunning on you and will set you apart from all the nude lips playing it safe.

Now to me there is no right or wrong way of wearing makeup . It either looks amazing or not very good but in order to find out what works you must try a few different looks . We can see this being paired with neutral eyes and a great highlighted cheek or a clean polished matte face but who is to say you can wear bight eyes as well.

It’s all about taking chances and finding a great new fabulous you. Start the New Year with a little color or a lot of color but whatever you do be sure to have fun with it i know i will.

Be sure to check back for the next post on this year’s spring makeup trends.

Must Haves

I wasn’t sure how to really start this post so I’m just going to jump right in. These are a few things that to me are must haves:

  • Pressed Powder (Mac MSF Natural)
My skin has always been troublesome so for me it was imperative i find makeup that doesn’t cloge my pores or break me out. This is it. My holy grail, with the correct application you can get med. coverage or a light dusting to set your foundation or concealer. It is mineral makeup meaning its light weight will not break you out and it is super easy to apply and blend.
  • Brush Cleanser
There are times when you can exactly wash your brushes, when that happens this is your best friend. You don’t want to use and use your brushes without cleaning or disinfecting them because all you will do is deposit all the oils and impurities that are on your brushes from the last time you used them back on your face and no one wants that. Brush cleanser is the best way to clean off the entire old product, oils and dust in between washing your brushes properly.

  • Brushes
Now for brushes this was the hardest part because to me i need them all. lol I was able to narrow it down to 5 so here they are:

-Foundation brush (sigma F80 Flat top kabuki)
Gives a Great flawless airbrushed look whether you use liquid or powder foundation.
             -Highlight brush (mac 188)
Great multipurpose brush. Highlight (liquid or powder), cream blush, powder blush, press powder can all be applied with this brush.
             -Shader brush (sigma E55)
Pack on color and blend it out. Can use it with cream or packed shadows, loose pigment or paints.
             -Tapered blending brush (sigma E40)
Want to blend out those harsh edges or apply a light dusting of color to your brow bone or crease.
-Small angled brow brush (mac 208)
I love this brush because not only can you fill in your brows, get a great cat eye but also line your lips. Small dense brush to apply just the right amount of product where you need it.
  • Eyelash curlers
I am pretty sure this is self-explanatory, who doesn’t want great curled up lashes, and I know I do.

  •  Neutral eye palette (ud naked palette)
You can get this anywhere whether it is at your nearest drug store or department store. Small compact and has all the essential colors for a nice neutral look or great Smokey eye.
Last but not least
  • Concealer (benefit Erase paste)
Have trouble areas, dark circles, blemishes, redness, discoloration or even if you just want to highlight an area concealer is your best friend. It’s good to give your skin a break from foundation so to do this i break out a little concealer for the problem spot and then set it if a little powder and your good to go.

This list by no means is all i will ever need but are just a few of the things i reach for on a daily biases or if I’m in a time crush or have to pack for light travel. Comment below on a few of your must have who knows might come across something new that you just won’t be able to live without.

Review : Lush 9 to 5 cleansing lotion

Review

On a whim a few weeks back i purchased this cleanser , the girl at the lush counter was super nice and told me that it worked great even on removing makeup.  Where i work there is always dust in the air and at the end of the day i need to feel like i have gotten not only my makeup but all other impurities off of my face . That being said in my opinion this cleanser does not do that.  It leave my skin feeling smooth not grease and the moister is long lasting , but i just don't feel like my face is completely clean.

The scent is mild floral with hints of almond  , almost like baby products . Personally i love it . I have to say what stands out the most is just how well it works at removing makeup . I wear primarily dark colors and always use primer paint pots or grease paint so its not always easy to remove . That is not a problem for this product . I just add some to a cotton swab and gently pat it on in moments it has broken down the makeup and i can just wipe it off .  It leaves a wonderful soothing sensation on your eyes that is great before bed.

In the end i would have to say that i would infact buy this item again . As a cream cleanser it would work best in my opinion for people is dry sensitive skin . As a makeup remover EVERYONE should try it .

Review : Revlons Grow Luscious mascara

Review

OK so as my first post i thought i would do a review on a product i have been using for about 3 months now. When i first heard about this product i wasn't running to get it . I have long eyelash's but there not as full as i would like them to be and am always looking for the best thickening mascara . Revlon claims that 96% saw instantly longer lusher lashes and the more you use this product the stronger your lashes will become . What happen to sell me on the product was the wand it self .
In my opinion Revlon has a great product on there hands . The formula is wonderful doesn't flake , smudge or weigh down your lashes and its very easy to remove. The wand is one of the best i think its large so you get full coverage yet easy to maneuver on the lower and inner corner lashes .

As far as them looking  fuller and lusher after application it wasn't anything really out of this world . There are other drug store brands that give you a fuller look. To me its a good day look or work look mascara . Now as for the long term effect i have had nothing but wonderful things to say . I can defiantly see a difference in the way my lashes look with nothing on them , they look naturally darker healthier and thicker. In the end i would say this is a great everyday mascara to use not only does it complement day looks but it is beneficial the long run . Now for evening looks , go with a different mascara or false lashes .

thank you so much for taking the time to read and i hope i could help you out if your on the fence about this product. Also if you haven't done so please subscribe and leave feedback thank you again and keep checking back for more tips tricks reviews and hauls .
